There are some things you can't do

 I watched a friend resist an activity that most people were engaging in. Simply stated, that relative knows he cannot engage in that activity--it's not for him for many reasons so he politely stepped aside. 

There are some activities we simply cannot partake in for all kinds of reasons. Perhaps those activities are outside of our physical abilities, mental stamina, healthy choices, time or interest. Knowing what you can't do is as important as knowing what you can do.

With regard to what I can't do, it has taken me quite some time to recognize that there are activities that I simply can't do because those activities are unhealthy and negative for me. Accepting that is a big step forward.

As I watched my friend courageously and smartly not partake in activities that are harmful and negative for him, I noted his strength and will to make healthy, positive choices. 

It may be good to make a list of what you can't do all the while recognizing that to resist that which is not good for you is to make yourself more available to the greatness life offers. Onward.
