Be ready to be uncomfortable

When entering new stages of life, it is important that you are ready to be uncomfortable. If you choose comfort alone, you will not get to experience all that the new stage presents. Trying to fit old ways into new stages can be a big mistake. So what do you do instead?

Try something new

Be willing to try something new. Some new events will match who you are well and others won't, but you won't know if you don't try.

Meet new people

Be willing to meet new people who share your new life stage and interests.

Be mindful of what the people from the past stages need

Don't try to fit the people from the past stages into your new life, but don't leave them behind either. Be respectful of where they are and want they desire. Try to find new parameters for those former relationships.

Have a vision of what you want to experience, who you want to be, and what you value

Take time to assess who you are and where you are going--without that knowledge you will find it difficult to embrace the new stage with strength.

Bring a sense of adventure and be ready to misstep

Enter the new stage with a sense of adventure and the knowledge that you will make mistakes.

New stages have the potential to be new adventures in life if you bring to those stages a positive mindset and a willingness to try new events and adventures. Onward.
