Happy Thanksgiving 2021

The table is set.

I took a look at last year's Thanksgiving post--we were in the midst of Trump's hostile election loss and a raging pandemic. We made the best of it with only four family members, but certainly, this year's situation is much better.

Our family of six will gather with my daughter-in-law's family and our friends to share a meal that includes a wonderful array of appetizers, drinks, turkey, squash, stuffing, gravy, potatoes, squash, broccoli and mushroom dishes, sweet breads and yeast breads, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, apple crisp, apple pie, pumpkin pie, chocolates and coffee. It will be a celebratory feast with friends and family. There will be a woodsy walk, games, storytelling, movies and more.

There is so much to be thankful for this year. First, we're all vaccinated and most of us are boosted which means our chances of contracting COVID to a serious degree is small at best. And, we had a wonderful, healthy, beautiful and enjoyable family wedding just one month ago that was wonderful. And, everyone has had some personal and professional successes in the past year--successes that have helped people to be happy and live well. We are fortunate to be able to gather to enjoy good food and one another's friendship and love.

We'll extend the celebration throughout the weekend and the month of December and January too as we make time to spend special moments with many friends and family members in the days ahead. For now, there are lots of preparations to complete so we can all relax and enjoy the day. Happy Thanksgiving!
