What is your creed?

 What is a creed?

What is your set of beliefs or aims that guide your actions?

The better we know and understand our values as well as revisit and revise those values regularly, I believe the better we can live.

As I think about my creed at this time, it contains the following beliefs:
  • None of us can know or be all things, yet we all have something of significance to share with the world.
  • The more that we lovingly seek to support, understand and care for one another, the better we will all be.
  • The only possible rationale for violence is self defense, and even then, we should resist violence as much as possible. For the most part, I am a pacifist who believes we should make every effort to eliminate violence against one another.
  • Good lives are focused on doing as much good as possible.
  • It is right to work for betterment in the world, and see betterment from a broad, humane, inclusive perspective.
  • It is essential to protect the planet and preserve our natural resources and natural beauty as best we can.
  • Working together generally produces the best results, but sometimes you do have to stand and work alone.
I will work more on my creed in the days ahead and I will take a look at creeds that exist in multiple places to lead life. There is much to know in this world, and if you have ideas for my creed, please share.
