Yesterday our family got together for a 60+ year multigenerational traditional Santa Party. My dad, mom and their siblings started the party many years ago, and since that time the party has gone through many iterations and spread out across multiple family gatherings. One feature of the party that is so awesome is the fact that it is a chance for many generations of our family to celebrate together. For example, yesterday's event included people from ages 2-almost 92, that's a wide age span. No matter your age, you still had the chance to sit on Santa's lap too.
One reason I love family gatherings so much is that we do get to be amongst people of many generations and many outlooks on life--outlooks that vary for all kinds of reasons including our ages. In a sense, this wakes us up and brings joy too.
