There's nothing that bothers me more than those who waste our time, potential and money to check a box and/or prop up their personal power, privilege, pleasure, profit and protection. These self-servers who misuse the courts, laws, lands, air, water, media, tax dollars and more for their own personal gain obstruct the good work possible. They are walls to good progress and dams to what we can do with sufficient resources, time and good energy.
For example, recently a couple of Republican politicians posted Christmas cards touting guns with their family members. Clearly they did that to appease their National Rifle Association (NRA) benefactors and to create headlines that win them name recognition. Sadly, what they also did was misrepresent a holiday that is typically associated with good cheer, peace, love, contribution and warmth with a violence-inciting, abusive, manipulative photo that puts a lot of young children in a place that is opposed to who young children naturally are and what they desire. If these wayward politicians had used their cards to express messages of cheer, warmth, love and care, rather than privilege, violence and harm, their cards would have inspired, and that inspiration would have created good energy, but instead they turned the attention toward their own egos and needed/desired attention, wasting an opportunity to build better.
Time and again, self-servers utilize resources to prop themselves up with little care or concern about the people around them or the greater society. The way that wealthy criminal politicians misuse the courts to protect themselves wastes court personnel, time and resources for important issues related to good living and humane progress. Similarly the way Trump used government roles to benefit friends and family members rather than do the good, dedicated work of a government of the people for the people wasted so many good resources, time and potential throughout his tenure. Similarly his multiple propaganda campaigns wasted a lot of time, money, truth and good energy for the good work possible too.
All of us have to be mindful of the time, energy and resources we utilize so that we use the resources with good result that enriches lives rather than strips lives of the supports and progress possible. We have to be mindful of who we elect to lead us--we can't elect lazy, self-serving individuals who simply work for themselves and a few wealthy donors/cronies, but instead elect hard working, dedicated, good people that work for all of us to better living everywhere across our country. This is important.
