What does good work look like for you?

For each of us, good work looks different. This is due to multiple factors including age, health, location, experiences, connections and more. As an educator, the opportunity to do good work was limitless--in fact there was so much good work to do, choosing was often a challenge. That's why I'm an advocate of increasing direct-student skilled staff and making teaching jobs more reasonable and doable. To increase staffs and make the job more reasonable, means more good will be done, good work that will enrich and support young children who are the future.

Now, in life, the opportunity to do good is not as overwhelming and clear. That good takes a bit more thought and planning, and falls into multiple categories.

Good energy

To optimize our energy allows us to do more good--as you get older, you have to be more cognizant of the efforts it takes to optimize energy, and those efforts are worth it. When we feel good and have good energy, we can do more good.

Taking care of loved ones

There's limitless good we can do for our loved ones--knowing what they need and hope for, helps us to support who they are and where they want to go. To help our loved ones has a pay-it-forward effect because when we empower our loved ones, they have more to give others too.

Warm welcoming spaces

It takes time and thought to create warm, welcoming spaces, and when you do that, you essentially create sanctuaries for people to congregate, put their feet up, share their thoughts and ideas, and live well.

Support good work and good people

In the greater community, there are countless ways to support good work and good people. Seek those opportunities and get involved.

For each of us, good work looks different. We can make time to talk about or observe the good work friends, colleagues and family members do to get ideas and support one another. Onward.
