It's been a fairly long road of caretaking lately, and over time I've become better at this task. Initially I had to learn a lot about the needed routines, supplies and troublespots that are part of the overall caretaking task, and now it's a matter of updating the routines and mindsets needed to care as well as possible.
What works?
In my caretaking role, the following efforts work well:
- Good housekeeping
- Delicious, nutritious meals
- Up to date supplies
- Weekly review of all efforts and updating regularly
- Caring for and collaborating with the caretaking team
- Checking in with those I care for regularly to see what they need, want and desire, and as much as possible meeting those needs.
If I stay the course most of the time, it's okay when I can't be there or follow through now and then. Onward.
