Make a commitment to a few good causes

My son is graduating from college this year, and one message I want to relay to him is that I'd like him to choose at least one good cause to make a lifelong commitment to. To support same good causes overtime makes you a benefactor of what is right and good, and over time your impact will make a positive difference.

Over time, I've supported good causes, but I wish I signed on to at least one cause for a lifelong commitment. Instead my support has wavered over time from one cause to another. While that's better than doing nothing, I think making a commitment to at least one cause for your lifetime creates a good foundation for you and for the cause you choose.

As I write this, I realize that it's not too late for me to choose wisely what and who I will make a commitment to for the rest of my life. You don't have to have a lot of money or time to make a commitment--what's most important is that you make the decision to make that commitment to a cause that's positive and greater than yourself.
