Realistic goal setting

Sometimes what we really want simply doesn't exist, and this is particularly true of when we think about the aging process. People don't live forever and the end of life often finds us compromising in ways that are not ideal, yet we do what we can.

As I think about life's goals in general, there are some goals on my list that are far too ideal, and it's time to make those goals more realistic, doable and practical as that will relieve some of the tension I've been carrying around and leave time and energy for some dream goals that are somewhat dreamy, but still doable.

Unrealistic goals can weigh us down, and this isn't good. That's why it is important to review your goals regulalrly and update those that are unrealistic as well as those that are not as vigorous as they can be.

As I think about that today, I want to talk to a few family members about how I can help out in doable, realistic ways. I want to rework the weekly routine to prepare for the somewhat post-pandemic spring ahead. Onward.
