Stepping into people's lives

In the past week, I had many opportunities to step into other people's lives. I was welcomed with great generosity, cheer, attention and care. I'm grateful for this chance to experience the homes, lives and interests of others--each location and person's home was warm and welcoming and their hospitality kind and attentive. I enjoyed the story telling and the chance to get to know each person a bit better. There was lots of good food too including delicious canolis, almond cake, homemade ice cream, sandwiches and pasta dishes.

There was a time in my life when I didn't meet these experiences with the same open mind and attitude that I have today--now I see each opportunity to visit others as a chance to broaden my perspective, enrich my life and live a little more and better. At this stage, I'm also more grateful for these opportunities as I am more aware of the often changing nature of our lives and days as wel as our need to support and care for one another.

The year ahead will include many more opportunities to spend time with people living all kinds of same and different lives. I'll also have the chance to host people at my home. These are the good ways to enrich our lives in positive ways. This is a welcome change from the isolating pandemic days of the past two years. Onward.
