Everyone likes a win

Recently a few people I know celebrated wins. The wins had a resounding positive effect on all those who supported the winners. Everyone likes a win.

Caught in the wave of celebration and positivity, I thought about the effects of winning, and what it means to win.

To win at any endeavor is to succeed in ways that uplift the team and all those who support the team. A true win is an honest feat that's marked by good focus, discipline, hard work, and talent. There's often a bit of serendipity and surprise thrown in as well.

Sometimes even when we do have good focus, discipline, and hard work, we don't get a win, and because of that, when everything does fall in place, the win is so much sweeter.

We can set our sights on a win in any endeavor we commit to--it can be a win at work, family life, community contribution, or creative endeavor. We can gain good momentum for the win by engaging others in our efforts in positive, inclusive ways. To make collaboration and inclusion part of the good work of winning also sweetens the win broadening its effects to all involved.

Everyone likes a win, and that's one good reason to reach for a win in the endeavors you choose. It's good to know that wins aren't always easy or accessible, but as noted before, that reality makes the times when you do win all the sweeter. Onward.
