The hater

Over time, the individual had been berated day after day by a particular group. Clearly, the group was not to be trusted in any way--their actions were hurtful and hateful. After that, anyone that reminded the individual of that group brought back memories of the hate and hurt, stories of the carnage past and present. She would never trust that group in any way, and as some would tell her, that was necessary for her survival both emotionally and physically. Yet, did she want to hate all people like that forever more. In time, she recognized that everyone who looked like that wasn't as hateful or hurtful. In fact some were helpful and kind. It took a long, long time to trust anyone who looked like the group who caused such trial and torment, and it took an abundance of kind, helpful, respectful actions over a long, long time to make that happen. But eventually it did happen, and it was good. Onward.
