News repetition

I've tired of the news. Yes, I'll continue to watch and/or listen to a news show daily as well as read the newspaper, but I'll cut down my news-watching time considerably since the news lately is like a broken record. Every day it's the same sensational reports without a lot of substance or evidence to back up the claims.

I want to be informed, however, as that helps me to make good decisions for my life and who I support in leadership, yet I don't want to be manipulated by same-old, same-old reports--reports that I've heard many times before. This repetitive cycle can worry us and stymie us rather than inspire us and inform us.

How we spend our time matters? If we are spending too much time with activities that do not elevate what we can do and who we can be, we have to make changes.

For me, one change will be to shut off the news more leaving more time for other, more worthwhile endeavors.
