Kitchen reboot

With changing family patterns, it's time to reboot my kitchen to match our new routines. What will I do?

Purge

I want to rid my kitchen of the pots, pans, plates, glasses and utensils we never use. That will make space for what we do use. I also want to get rid of foods we don't use or have become outdated.

Organization

I want to reorganize in ways that fit our current lifestyle. For example, we use bowls a lot more and fancy dishware a lot less, hence put the things we use a lot in close reach and put what we use less often in the less reachable spots.

Travel containers

I send home food with people often, hence I need a lot of travel containers. I like to use glass containers which reminds me that I should save more glass containers from foods we buy rather than recycle those so I have more containers ready to use.

Kitchen herbs and greens

I love the fact that you can grow herbs and greens in your kitchen. Those plants are nice, clean, fresh and ready to pick when you need them. The same goes for my summer porch container gardens which provide easy-to-access plants to add to your meals.

A good kitchen reorganization sets the stage for healthy eating, entertaining and living. Onward.
