Do you scare people away?

Some people may scare us. They can scare us by erratic behavior, caustic responses, fearless escapades, dramatic responses, lack of manners or good judgement and more. We may scare others away for one or more of those reasons too. If you find that people shy away from you, you may need to check your behavior and question if you scare people away.

Why do people act in ways that scare others away? There's likely lots of reasons why this happens. Often, these behaviors are caused by unmet needs or troubling challenges during childhood. For example, an individual who was never able to communicate his/her feelings, may not know how to express themselves calmly or in ways acceptable or comfortable to and with others.

What do you do when people act in ways that scare you? First, you can try to figure out what triggers the frightening responses and steer clear from that. You may also reduce your interactions with people like that and make sure that when you interact with them, you're in the kind of place and time that lends itself to a peaceful interaction. And, if the people are important to you, you can look for ways to establish a more trusting, peaceful relationship.

To be scared or scare people away is a significant behavior that demands attention to change that kind of response. Onward.
