You don't have to do it all

Managing energy is a needed goal for most of all. There is limitless opportunity to reach out and act, but energy is limited so how do you manage energy in ways that allow you to do what you want to do well.

First, it's good to assess your energy patterns. Some of us have even energy reserves which translates to about the same amount of energy each day and others have more erratic energy output--some days you may have lots of energy and other days you may have less. Understanding your personal energy helps you to maximize that energy for the kind of life you want.

Also, know what energizes you and what depletes your energy reserves. Those energy-makers and energy-takers will differ from person to person. For example, I gain a lot of energy when I'm preparing for a positive event with loved ones--it seems like I could move a mountain when I'm readying for an event like that, but when an event includes lots and lots of emotional energy for a challenging and troubling situation, my energy is zapped. Know what gives you lots of energy and what depletes that energy.

And, a good routine with healthy activity, foods, and rest typically supports good daily energy so do what you can to foster positive energy. Further, don't expect to do it all--no one can do it all and that's why we all have to prioritize with regard to what's most important to us and make time for that.

To have good energy is a great gift, a gift we can manage and maximize for good living. Onward.
