This summer has been a puzzle of unexpected changes and events--most of this ever changing landscape has been positive, yet I've had to throw up my hands with regard to specific, tight planning and allow life to flow.
As this waterfall like summer continues, what themes take center stage.
Home
It seems that the theme of home has been strong this summer as multiple family members move to new homes and I visit and support the homes of others. I'm also re-looking and revising my own home in simple ways to make it simpler and more welcoming.
New chapters
Many loved ones are beginning new chapters in life with new jobs, school programs, travel, impending retirements, relationships and more. This newness is not a good match for planning since there are a lot of unknowns when people embark on new chapters, yet each of these chapters holds great promise for life which is exciting and positive.
Nature
I've sought out nature much more this summer. Since the days of COVID-related hibernation, nature has become a better friend to me and I have become more familiar with the joy that adventures, gardening, and simply being in nature bring.
Camaraderie
The summer has brought both planned and impromptu opportunities to connect with countless good people. There's been lots of story telling, mutual positive challenge, care for one another, and connection. This is positive and life enriching.
In so many ways it has been a summer of change and most of that change has been positive, but some truly sad too. It is a summer of deep connections, transformative change and spontaneity too. And now, at mid summer, I'm ready to continue this twisty, turvy, every changing summer road. Onward.
