One of the best reasons to write a blog is the ability to look back in time. I just looked back at past Fourth of July posts to learn that this year will be some of the same and some different too. What has changed is my parents' care--what they enjoy today is somewhat different than a year ago. We'll still gather for good food, sport and fun, but there will be less of us there today. Instead most family members will go to my brother's celebration or beach meet-ups and other parties.
As I look back in time, it's interesting to notice what traditions, events and people remain a mainstay and what changes. This helps to pinpoint exactly what matters to you and what doesn't matter as much. Onward.
