My life or your life

Time, energy, capacity are limited and not endless. Yet what we can do for one another and ourselves is endless--there's always more we can do to improve our health, knowledge, contribution, and good living. This reality has most of us seeking the balance in life--the right balance of care for self and care for others.

Fortunately there are many agencies and experts out there to help us find that balance, and we are smart to use those agencies and experts to help us out when balance evades us. It takes time to figure out who can help and how they can help so it's good to stay ahead of the needs with regular research, assessment, collaboration and care.

I thought about this today as I continue down the elder care path with regard to loved ones with health concerns. I've learned a lot over the past couple of years as I've navigated this path on a regular basis. It has not been an easy path, but it has not been impossible either. Finding that balance is the key, and how to find that balance continues to be a moving target as care needs change. Onward.
