Surviving the unimaginable

I read a story of an unimaginable tragedy recently. I knew some of the people involved. I was so sad that these good people had to face such a tragedy. I wanted to know why it happened and how it happened. I couldn't imagine the pain and hurt this tragedy caused them. I fear a similar tragedy in my own life and wonder how I will deal with such hurt when and if it happens.

You can't prepare for tragedy

Tragedies happen, and while we can work to prevent those tragedies, we can't totally avoid or prepare for them. Tragedies are unexpected events. The best we can do is continually reach out and work with and for each other for the best possible lives. When we do that we create a fabric of strength that help us when tough times arrive.

Be there for one another

Live a simple life and be there for one another. Your care for one another does not have to be extravagant because even a simple phone call, card, gift or meal can brighten people's days and comfort them during times of tragedy.

Live life

Everyone gets their turn when it comes to tough times, and that's one reason why you have to enjoy the good times. Living life and enjoying the good times gives you the strength to bear the bad times and help others out too.

Onward.
