Have you ever sat down and simply listed all the work you do to live the life you lead? Honestly, I think that's a good idea because often you may be doing more than you think, but not giving yourself adequate time or support for all that work.
Logging how you spend your time during one week would help you to see what you do with the time you have. We are what we do. For example, I spend a lot of time thinking and writing--I love going deep with life's issues and trying to cull some wisdom and insight from the way life works. I've enjoyed this activity from my earliest days and for the most part, this has helped me to live a meaningful life for myself and others. So you could say I'm a thinker and writer. I also spend a lot of time caring for other people--I really like to care for people in ways that help their lives, so you might consider me a caretaker too, and I like to research and create so I'm a creator and a researcher.
How do you spend your time? What takes the lion's share? Are there ways that you can re-organize your time so that you're spending more time doing what you really care about? I'll be thinking about this question in the days ahead.
