For many of us, September is much more of a new year than January. September was or still is a new year for educators and students everywhere--it is a time for new starts and new goals. I'm still in that mindset, so I'm thinking about my 2022-2023 goals. What are the goals? How will I work towards those goals and how will I assess my progress with those goals?
In the past, it was easy to share my goals since many were related to my work as an educator and my role as a parent of young children. Those goals were shared by many and easy to publicize, but now as a retired educator, my goals are far more personal and much less easy to share publicly. These goals relate a lot more to my more intimate relationships and personal ways of being. Hence, I'll discuss those goals in general.
Relationship and teamwork goals
I love being a vital part of a good team, and I love having strong, loving, reciprocal relationships. I have many goals related to these interests. Goals that connect to what it takes to achieve optimal teamwork and loving relationships.
Health
To be as healthy as you can be gives you great energy and ability to relate and contribute well. I want to be as healthy as I can be so I have that kind of energy and relatedness. I have a good number of goals in that arena too.
Contribution
I have some goals in this arena, but the other two areas will take priority this year.
Onward.
