We all have slumps now and then. Slumps are times when our typical performance and energy is not up to par. During a slump it is easy to get discouraged with yourself, but instead it's important to nurture yourself out of the slump.
Often a slump is caused by fatigue or poor health. The first step in ridding yourself of the slump is to give yourself the gift of ample rest, good nutrition, and some healthy exercise in beautiful, natural places. That will help to get you back on track.
It's also important to give yourself time too--time to reflect and engage in life enriching and energizing activities.
Sometimes a slump can occur due to procrastination, so rather than procrastinate get the onerous jobs on your list done. Dull and taxing tasks can become a heavy weight on your mind and body when you procrastinate rather than getting those tasks done.
Anticipation can often cause a slump too. For example, I've been anticipating a stressful event, and I think that has contributed to a recent slump I experienced. The event will be emotional and sad, and while the event is very important, it may be difficult in many ways. Anticipation of tough tasks can create a slump.
The worst thing you can do when you're in a slump is beat yourself up because you're in a slump--instead, be proactive. Take good care of yourself. Treat yourself like a best friend and do all you can to release yourself from the slump's grasp. You can do that. Onward.
