August does seem to mark the new year. That might be because I was a teacher for many years, and August always marked the start of the new school year planning and teaching. Yesterday I thought a lot about the year ahead. I asked my loved ones a few questions related to the year to see what they are thinking and planning. For the most part, the year will look a lot like years past. Of course I know there will be some unexpected events, and I hope most of those unexpected events will be positive. Here's the plan.
August: family fun
September: work, school, hiking, late summer beach visits
October: work, school, hiking, DC visit
November: work, school, family wedding, Thanksgiving
December: work, school, family birthdays, Christmas/New Year's Eve holidays
January: work, school, taxes, health procedures
February: work, school, perhaps some cross country skiing
March: work, school, house repairs start, perhaps a getaway
April: work, school, local adventures
May: work, school, local adventures
June: work, celebrations
July: work, family reunions
While there's a part of me that's ready for a big adventure, it seems that the year ahead will be focused on work, school, local adventures and house-related projects. This is all good providing a plan for the year ahead. Onward.
