When a job is staring you in the face

I noticed the job a while ago, but thought it out of my area of skill and expertise. I simply thought someone else would do it, but no one did, and the need to complete the task became critical. So finally after putting off the task for a long time, I began doing the job myself with a little help from my son and my dad. As noted in a previous post, the teamwork made the work a lot easier and enjoyable to do. Yet, we just got started. There's still a lot more to do and I find myself up in the wee hours of the morning worried about how I'll get it done.

I read a few articles about the job details. It's a job that will take about 25 hours altogether over a few days. When I finally notice a job's parameters, I simply want to get started, yet it's too early in the morning and I'm too far away from the job site to start now, so instead I'll make a plan.

First, I'll gather the needed supplies. I have some here at home and there will likely be some at the site.

Then, I'll wear my down and dirty job clothes and bring an extra set to change into afterwards. I'll start the job when I have my best energy early in the morning.

And, I'll get to work and do as much as I can in the first day.

My mistake with regard to this job was thinking someone else would do it--that delayed the work and has made it a bigger job. Next time, I'll get started sooner than later. Onward.
