Sometimes in some situations you may feel like you're a team of one. When that happens, you have to revisit what's going on and make some changes since rarely is a team of one a successful team.
How can you move from a team of one to a team of some? What can you do?
Prioritize
Often you end up as a team of one if you are trying to do too much. That confuses people and makes your team a difficult team to join or support. To prioritize what you're doing and why helps people to get involved and be more supportive.
Communication
Take a hard look at your communication. We all have different ways of communicating, so it may be that your way of communicating is unacceptable or misunderstood by those you wish to team with. You likely have to be more strategic about your communication including the words you use, length, frequency, and the paths of communication you use. You have to think about what works best in this age of multiple communication paths. Is it better to text, email, phone, or talk in person.
More action than words
Focus more on the action than the words--do the hard work. Know that many may not be able to understand or appreciate what you do, so keep a list of your actions as proof to yourself that you're doing the work. Have the list handy in case others question your efforts. It's easy to forget what you've done, but it's important to keep that list and celebrate the small wins of your good work regularly.
Onward.
