What does the loving road of life look like? What turns does the loving road of life take? A friend met me at the door with a basket of awesome goodies because I agreed to do a favor for her. I wasn't expecting a basket of goodies, but that treat did make the task sweeter. On the loving road of life, gifting our loved ones in ways that make the path sweeter is one way to travel.
What else can we do to make our road of life, a loving road of life? I'm thinking about that today as I realize the road of life will take many twists and turns. There will be easy straightways, challenging hills and mountains, and some deep valleys too. No matter the challenge of the landscape, we can always choose to travel in loving ways. What do those loving ways look like?
Straightways
Life plains are typically easy to traverse. There are no big surprises on these straightways and we have what we need to travel the road with peace, health, and happiness. During these times, to travel with love means to share the strength and peace you feel with others. To lend a hand as you can in positive ways.
Hills and Mountains
These are life challenges. I'm learning that it's often helpful to find a loving team to travel with during times like these. Making sure that the team is encouraging, loving, helpful, and inspiring is important. Travel with those who push you forward in positive, loving ways. Follow their lead by encouraging others as well. Reaching the summit with a loving team will be a joyful experience for all of you.
Deep Valleys
When we land in these deep valleys, to move in loving ways often means to love ourselves by giving ourselves what we need to sustain a positive, good life. These are often times of deep prayer and reflection--it's when we shore up our values and strengths to move ahead.
No matter what our lives our like or the paths we're traveling, we can choose to travel in a loving way. Onward.
