Who do you want to be?

On a social media channel, an individual posed the question, "If you could go anywhere, where would you go?" As I thought about that question, I realized that my answer didn't involve a place, but instead focused on a way of being. I want to travel to a place where I am the person I desire to be. I've got a fairly long wish list in this regard, a wish list that is within my grasp to achieve.

If you could become that person you want to be, what would that person be like? Why does this person inspire, excite, and call to you? How is this person able to live well throughout change and time?

Taking the time to focus in on what matters to you and why helps you to become the person you want to be. To create that vision it's also important to look around at who inspires you and who is doing the good work you value, good work for self and others. To simply chart your course without the needed observation and thought won't be as valuable as if you take the time to look around, know the landscape, and understand the choices in front of you.

I'll spend a bit of time today thinking about this question--a question that will lead my efforts in the days ahead. Onward.
