Hate machines?

Do you belong to a hate machine of any kind?

What is a hate machine?

I define a hate machine as interrelated parts that promote hate.

A hate machine can be as small and simple as a group of people that continuously promote hateful thoughts and actions that demean and dehumanize rather than enrich and lift lives up or as large as an interrelated collection of people and parts whose main objective is hate.

Has Twitter's sole focus become that of a hate machine--a social network that mostly promotes hateful words and actions?

I still belong to Twitter, but the way the platform is currently being managed greatly worries me--it seems that the Twitter dictator, Elon Musk, is a conduit of hate more than anything else. It seems that he is kowtowing to hateful individuals and efforts rather than focused on the common good. This is frightening as we all know the violence, death, and despair hate can bring forth.

What will I do?

I'll stay on Twitter for the time being, and while there I'll block those who spread the hate and incite violence of any kind. I'll no longer report as Musk seems to prefer the hate theater over civil, respectful discourse and objectives so reporting will likely not do any good.

I'll also join other social networks and try those networks out.

Eventually if the hate grows too great, I'll likely leave platforms that are clearly hate machines.

We hold such amazing potential for good as a people and country. Hate machines work against that good in deadly, hurtful, dangerous, and destructive ways. Beware of hate machines great and small as they do us no good. Onward.
