A new job in today's world is influencer. Some influencers successfully promote products, attitudes, and efforts via social media and elsewhere with words, images, videos, and more. As their influence rises so do their contracts and income.
In truth, we are all influencers via our daily words, actions, and efforts. In life, we observe and listen to one another all the time. We are influenced by what others do, and we influence other too with our own words, actions, and efforts.
Some of us are more successful influencers and others are less influential.
Who influences me?
I am generally influenced by people who promote the best of whom we can be. I observe and listen to people closely who bring out the best in others in ways great and small. For example, yesterday my dad told me the story of a young woman who attended to him when he fell recently. The way he spoke about the woman made me take note. I have heard many other stories about this woman's kindness, warmth, and intelligence. I've observed her good work too. She influences me via her dedicated, loving, positive, humane work.
I am influenced by many friends and family members who make wise choices related to their time, families, and communities. I watch what they do, see their impact, and think about how I might do the same.
Should influence be an aim of your words and actions?
I don't think you should act with the goal of influencing alone, but I do think you should be aware that your every action and word has the potential to influence others. For example, I know that some of my actions and words are not influential, but because I believe deeply in what I say and do, I don't let that affect me. I pay attention, think about the reactions, and stick to my perspective and efforts if I believe they are well directed even if not overly influential.
On the other hand, I am careful about what I say and how I say it. I know that my words and actions can be replicated, and I only want to promote that which I believe works for the common good. If I learn that I am wrong, I will admit that and change my ways.
Influencer?
We are all influencers, and that's why it's important to choose your words and actions carefully. To influence a positive world for all is a good aim, one that helps us to be a stronger, better community. Onward.
