Overcoming life's mistakes

The older you get, the more aware you of mistakes you've made in life. It is never easy to acknowledge your errors, and in many ways, it is even more difficult to make amends for those errors and then learn from your mistakes.

I'm committed to making amends and learning from my mistakes in life. Like most people, I've made my share of mistakes. Mostly those mistakes were simply due to a lack of knowledge, understanding, and experience rather than a purposeful effort to undermine, ignore, or harm in any way.

As I think of the greatest errors I've made, I recognize that the mistakes were due to a lack of courage with regard to facing or dealing with difficult situations; projection rather than finding out the truth of a matter; and not enough patience when dealing with troubling situations. What I've learned from these errors is that greater patience, finding out the truth of matters, and courageously dealing with troubling situations are good avenues to travel when life doesn't go the way you think it should.

I'm moving ahead from those errors with new knowledge and conviction. I'm sure I'll make more errors on the road of life, and I hope to learn from those errors too. Onward.
