Holidays 2020 were a mostly intimate Christmas due to the spread of COVID.
Holidays 2021 were a bit more social since many of us were vaccinated. Even with the vaccinations, COVID spread throughout our family after Christmas. Fortunately no one was too sick thanks to the fact that we were vaccinated.
What will Holidays 2022 bring?
Holidays 2022 is likely to be a lot like Holidays prior to COVID. There will be more get togethers with more people, and we'll likely attend some public celebratory events and functions too.
In some ways, it seems like Holidays 2022 will be a time to revise and renew holiday traditions. We learned a lot during the heavy COVID years, and we suffered too with respect to challenges related to life and relationships since COVID and politics at that time greatly challenged life as we knew it.
So how can we revise and renew this year?
Some revisions and renewal I hope to embed include the following:
- Increased awareness of the fleeting nature of life's special times and people--I don't want to take anything for granted.
- An increased awareness of our unique, special abilities, talents, outlooks, and life ways--I want to be more respectful, aware, and supportive of the many ways people choose to live their lives.
- Greater commitment to living a good life which is a life of good health, positive relationships, generosity, respect, and love.
- A more discerning effort and attitude to how I spend my time, energy, and capacity in life with a greater focus on what I can do to support good living for myself and others.
- Slowing down in ways that give me the opportunity to see, understand, and participate with greater sensitivity, care, and focus.
