Some relationships are like sandpaper. In those relationships we tend to roughly smooth each other's edges. These sandpaper relationships can actually be good for us if we manage the relationships carefully. For example, when we feel the rough edge of the sandpaper, we can think about why that edge feels so rough and how it might smooth us in positive ways. That happened to me recently. Rough sandpaper remarks hurt a lot, but there was some definite truths in that rough sandpaper effect. If I take those truths seriously, I'll definitely smooth out a few rough edges and that will serve me well for the rest of my life.
Throughout life, you'll experience some sandpaper relationships. If those relationships are rooted in love and/or mutual respect and mission, it's likely that the relationships over time will serve you well. Onward.
