The holidays give us the opportunity to be amongst friends. When we make that happen, we create warmth and solidarity. The ways we gather differ in all kinds of ways from a simple walk in the woods to an elaborate party at a beautiful place. Far more than what we do or where we gather is the fact that we do make the time to be with one another in ways that demonstrate our care, support, and camaraderie.
As we build, revise, and initiate culture amongst our family, friends, and community, it seems to me that warmth, friendship, and support are prime objectives. We want to create opportunities that enrich our lives in meaningful ways. As I continue on with the holiday gatherings and events, I'll think about what brings us together in ways that matter--what are the events we want to build upon and replicate in years ahead, and what events are ready for retirement.
