What will 2023 bring?

2022 was a big year of change. When the year started one son was a full-time Marine, another a full-time undergrad, and a third working a full time job and newly married. My mom was very ill too and the entire family was trying to figure out the best ways to help Mom. As the year progressed, mom's illness grew graver and she eventually died in October of 2022. Just before Mom's death, we lost our 17 year old nephew to an unexpected medical event--that was very sad.

During the year, the college undergraduate finished his final year with an exciting team sports success and a celebratory graduation. The Marine transitioned to the Reserves and entered grad school full time. The newly married son continued to work and attend grad school. My sons and their loved ones are at busy stages.

Also, in 2022, my husband was transitioning from a long-held job at a company that recently merged with another company to a new job. Now, he's busy with that job. I continued my retirement from teaching and new job as family supporter. While I wouldn't mind rejoining the work force in some capacity, I find that my job here at home and with family is a full time endeavor that I both enjoy and see as necessary at this juncture.

2022 was a busy and somewhat challenging year due to all those transitions. I expect 2023 to be somewhat more predictable. Time will tell.

During 2023, I hope to be more of a follower than a leader. So many in my midst are leading the way in countless endeavors, and I want to be a support to them when I can. Also, the fact that so many in my midst are busy with their life's mission gives me time to attend to a large number of personal items that demand time and attention. I look forward to completing those tasks. Onward.
