As you live your life, are you making a positive difference in the lives of others? Is this important? Why or why not?
As we consider our own lives and the lives of others, the issue of making a difference is a consideration. Who has made a significant difference in your life and what lives have you impacted?
As I consider those who have made a considerable difference in my life, I realize there are far too many positive influences to name. Almost every person I have come in contact with throughout my life has impacted me in positive ways. Even some who had negative impacts on my life also had positive impacts. Few to none passed through my life without any impact. This truth reminds me that even our simplest interactions with people have an impact, and we almost never know the kind of impact we have on others.
How does this knowledge of our ever present impact on the lives of others influence the way we live? Cognizance of this reality creates more intention with regard to our actions, words, and choices. Once we recognize that we are always impacting each other, we have a responsibility to use that power with care and respect.
Do we make a difference with our impact on others? How do we determine that, and what can we do to make that impact positive?
As with all things in life, acting with good character and good values makes the difference here. If we act in ways that promote the best of who we are and can be, our impacts, overall, will be positive. If we act without good character, values, or intent, our impact will likely be negative rather than positive. Onward.
