One Republican after another mentioned money as they nominated individuals to become Speaker of the House. As they discussed the cost of government, they neglected to mention the exorbitant unnecessary and wasteful costs the Trump team cost the United States.
First, when you look at Donald Trump's tenure as President and after, you'll notice that he spent a lot of money on costs related to the Secret Service, and much of that money was directed to Trump's private resorts and clubs--Trump profited by his Secret Service watch. Further Trump milked the government in every way he could--his time on the golf course alone cost the government lots of money and time--he spent considerable time playing golf rather than doing his job as President.
As President, Donald Trump wasted a lot of money by choosing friends and family members for government offices. For the most part, these individuals were not experienced for the jobs they got, and rather than do their jobs to serve the American people, they simply served Donald Trump instead. When you look at all the promises Trump made, and then what he did as President, you'll notice he did almost nothing to help the American people since he chose a team that served him, not us.
Trump further wasted dollars, time, and money as he responded to the COVID crisis with lots of propaganda rather than the good work possible. His persistent lies, sloth, and inability and unwillingness to take an intelligent, scientific approach towards the problem, meant a a lot of time was wasted and as a result a lot of lives and money were wasted too.
Trump's BIG LIE was a complete drain financial, time, capacity, and potential waste in American society too. Rather than accept the truth of the matter that he lost the election fair and square Trump and his team spread The Big Lie and tried to prove that Big Lie with countless costly efforts resulting in the very costly domestic terror insurrection at The Capitol on January 6th resulting in violent terrorism, vandalism, obstruction of justice, harm, and death. All of this horror cost the American people countless dollars, dollars still spent today on law suits, health care, investigations, death-related services/payments, and more.
The bottom line is that bad acts cost a lot of money, time, capacity, and potential. When people like Donald Trump aim to do the wrong thing, that negative action has a trickle down effect that costs us a lot. That's why we have to elect the kind of leaders who understand that good acts and honesty matter. Those that continue to support Trump in words and actions, prove to us that they don't care about the unhealthy, unnecessary, problematic costs the American people have to endure because of Trump's lazy, self-serving, criminal, and corrupt behavior. When they thank Trump, they clearly signal that they too will waste our time and money for their own personal gain rather than do the good work possible.
Every time someone purposely acts in ways that harm and hurt American capacity and potential for good living everywhere, they rob us of the great potential that exists for strong, safe, happy, loving communities.
Don't be fooled by the Republican's propaganda that aims to make you afraid, angry, and misinformed. Instead seek the leaders that do the right thing by working for betterment in the United States now and into the future. Smart economists know that good investments in people, the environment, and healthy living will result in a strong country for years to come. Neglecting that investment now to save a few dollars or worse, support errant politicians' greedy needs and desires, will spell a troubled future.
Do your homework.
