As I listen to the news and observe the world around me, I wonder if we've given up on building the kind of warm, loving communities possible. Are many of life's ills the product of too much greed and too little care for one another. How can we change this?
Multi-generational housing
As we solve the housing crisis that many people and communities face, are we building the kind of houses that can serve multi-generational families or are we building too many houses that only accommodate a small family or friend group?
Would we be better off building homes that house multi-generational groups? If so, how would we do that to promote the best possible living in our modern world?
Do we spend too much money focused on cars and jobs rather than good living?
As we build society, do we focus too much on jobs and cars rather than what it takes to build vibrant, warm, productive, and happy communities. The physical design alone related to communities often distance people from one another in unhealthy and unhappy ways. How can we rethink our community design going forward to foster greater strength and support within every community?
Is greed getting in the way
Violence and despair tear communities apart. Illegal drugs do the same. Is the greed of some who make lots of money off of drug or weapon sales promoting greater despair and violence weakening and harming our communities substantially?
In a sense, most people are simply trying to live their best possible lives, but too many of us don't realize that truly good lives depend on the good living for all, not just some. The greater happiness in society in general, the less violent, greedy, unethical, and unhappy life ways. I think we can do better when it comes to building a loving, warm, supportive culture everywhere in our world. This is something I want to think more about. Onward.
