Words alone are not powerful, but words in conjunction with actions that match can be very powerful and life changing. Where do your words and actions match well, and where is there an imbalance with words alone, but little or no matching action?
We all know that our actions are far more powerful than our words--our actions tell the true story of our values, commitments, beliefs, and investments. An easy example of this is people who cry poor yet have considerable wealth in terms of properties, material objects, good times, and more. Clearly, people like this have the money they need to meet life's essential needs and more. There's a mismatch between their financial complaints and their lifestyle.
On the other hand, there are lots of very quiet people out there doing the good work of serving one another and making better everywhere in the community. These people don't just talk the talk, but more importantly, they walk the walk of good work, positive investments, and enriching contribution.
It's important, especially for wordy folks like me, to evaluate that word-action balance from time to time with these questions:
- Do your actions mirror the words you speak?
- How can you deepen your action while lessening your words?
- Where do you find the inspiration and support that helps you to act more than speak?
