My husband and I are hosting a reunion brunch this morning for many of his colleagues from his former workplace. I'm looking forward to seeing this team again. For years they worked together to uplift health for multiple groups of people in a large number of areas. Their work was mission focused, creative, and successful. Today will be a celebration of sorts for all the good work and caring camaraderie they engaged in.
There's many reasons why I like a brunch. Brunch is a more easy going meal with lots of healthy options. The midmorning, early afternoon time frame is nice too since people are energized then and there will be a lot of light in the house too.
The foods will include the following:
- Mezze Board: hummus, tzatziki, muhammara, pita chips, veggies, dried fruit. . . .
- Roasted veggies, herbs, and feta
- Spinach, onion, feta quiche
- Tomato, onion, cheddar quiche
- Blueberry bread, scones
- Assorted berries
- Green salad
- Cookies
- Bloody Mary's, Mimosa's, Juices, Coffee
I'm sure there will be a lot of storytelling and laughter as people catch up after the long COVID years and changes in many people's work and personal lives.
Opening your home up to friends and associates gives you the chance to revisit all the spaces in your home and your patterns of hospitality and friendship. I'm sure it will be a nice event. Onward.
