It's easy to point out people's deficits, but too often we forget to acknowledge their contributions. If you consider people's contributions in life you'll have a much more positive experience of life. If you grew up in a critical home, it may be difficult to have a contribution-mindset. One way to build that mindset is to keep a list of all the good the people you know and love do. Just jot down their acts of kindness and care. Then when you're tempted to be critical, take a look at that contribution list. None of us can be or do all things, but we all can contribute in meaningful ways. It's important to recognize that.
