A healthy, happy life

I believe that most people want to live a healthy, happy life, and what that means for each person will differ somewhat depending on their stage of life, personality, and circumstances. I spent some time this morning researching issues related to the welfare of many people I know and care for. I read about the challenges and strengths that make up their lives as I revised my schedule of related support and care. As I did this research, a few elements of happy, healthy lives came to the forefront.

Predictability

A good level of consistency and predictability supports a happy, healthy life. When you know you can count on someone or something at regular intervals that creates a sense of peace and steady support. As one who enjoys the novelty of new situations and changing routines, I have to also remember the positivity of predictability and not vary the schedule too much for those I care for.

Positive routines

As I watch my dad age, one of the strongest aspects of his life is the healthy, positive routine he's employed since he was a child. He grew up in a home with healthy, positive routines and discipline, and he carried that forward in his own life. This serves him very well in his ninth decade, and I want to support that for him and others I care for. A healthy, positive routine is good for all of us.

Healthy, positive social opportunities

When we engage in healthy, positive social opportunities, we feel good. So as much as possible I want to create social opportunities that are healthy and positive.

Teamwork

Being a good member of any team makes the hard work easier and more pleasurable to complete. So I want to support that aspect of life too in order to promote my own healthy, happy life and that of others. Onward.
