Most people I know read, listen, and watch multiple news shows. They're not relegated to one channel or one newspaper, but instead rely on multiple sources of information to understand what's going on in the world. I believe this is a positive way of understanding the world you live in. No one source will be always accurate or on target, but utilizing a variety of reputable sources of information will result in a fairly accurate idea of what's happening.
There are many reasons that staying abreast of the news is important to living a good life. One important reason is that understanding the news can lead to happier and healthier lives. I thought of this yesterday as I recently read the news about a new drug that's available related to the Alzheimer's disease. Since a loved one suffers from that illness I paid particular attention to the report and was able to ask a physician about it yesterday. That doctor responded by making a number of appointments for my loved one to explore the appropriateness of this drug for his current condition. This is good news for us because the information we'll learn from the many appointments will inform our next steps with regard to setting the stage for the best possible living.
Staying abreast of a variety of reputable news sources helps us to set the stage for success in all areas of life. As we read the stories of new inventions, troubled lives, contribution, new laws and policies, and persistent struggles, we learn about what's advantageous for our lives and what's not.
Even better is making the time to discuss these articles with friends and family members. Hearing how many we know well translate that information helps us to rightly embed the information in our lives in ways that help us to live better lives.
Staying abreast of the news in positive, accurate ways improves the opportunities we have and the way we live our lives. Onward.
