What matters to your loved ones?

As the Easter holiday approaches, I am thinking about the many loved ones I'll spend time with and as I think about that, I'm thinking about what matters to them.

Children's success

Many loved ones are invested in their children's happiness and success. They want their children to thrive in positive, healthy ways. They want them to thrive in school, at their jobs, with friends, in sports, and more. People care about their children's success.

Good times

Many loved ones are interested in adventures, exploration, and good times. They love to adventure with their friends and family in beautiful places. I'll be interested in the good times they're planning.

Health

Lots of loved ones are engaged in positive, healthy activity regularly. They constantly revise their health routines to accommodate their schedule, interests, and needs.

Politics

My family, in general, enjoys political talk--they're invested in living in a strong, free country, and as you would guess there are many differing opinions on how we make that happen.

Money

In general, my family is not obsessed with money, but they do like to pay their bills and have a bit extra for good times so there's a bit of money talk.

History

Since I'm very interested in our family history, we end up talking a bit about this.

Fashion

Even though my family is dominated by men, fashion does become a topic particularly when it comes to clothes that are comfortable, look good, easy to move in, and good for adventures.

Work

Since most people have jobs, there's talk of work.

Landscaping

We have many nature enthusiasts in the family so talk of landscaping and gardening is a mainstay.

Marriage, relationships

There's some talk about these topics and the expected sensitivity that sometimes comes with those topics.

Our family, like most, has a wide array of interests and pursuits. Over the holidays, I look forward to learning more about each family member's current investments of time, energy, and interest. Onward.
