You can do it!

We all are full of dreams--dreams for our lives and dreams for our world. What's often different is how much we invest in those dreams. Some move towards their dreams with a great investment of time, confidence, and the will to achieve, and others at the far end of the continuum, have little trust in their personal dreams. For them, dreams are evidence of foolishness. Of course I fall on the side of the dreamers--I love dreaming and then working to make my dreams a reality. Yet I dont often have the confidence, steadfastness, and commitment that some have. I'm working on that.

When it comes to achieving our dreams, what do we have to remember?

Everyday do the work that will lead you to your dreams

If we break down our dreams into specific actions then complete those actions consistently, we'll achieve many or most of our dreams.

Dreamwork is hard work

Mostly, achieving your dreams doesn't come easy--you have to work to achieve your dreams and that work requires research, reflection, review, revision, and commitment to do the dream work necessary.

Find those who support you and your dreams

Dreamwork is best completed with a supportive team. Find the people that actively support your dreams and the work it takes to achieve those dreams.

Inspiration matters

When your energy is low for dreamwork, seek out the wise examples and words of others to keep you going.

Envision the dreams fulfilled

With writing, drawing, collage, and other creative endeavor create an image or written summary of your dreams fulfilled. The more detailed that is, the better chance you'll actually achieve your dreams.

Expect setbacks

Rarely is dreamwork a steady path, and more typically dreamwork is a two steps ahead, one step backwards endeavor. You'll definitely hit roadblocks on the way to your dreams.

Share your dreams with those you trust

Let others know about your dreams. Even if you don't achieve your dreams fully, you may inspire others to pick up where you left off. We've seen this kind of positive action with the world's greatest dreamers like Ghandi, MLK, Mandela and more.

The first step to achieving your dreams is allowing yourself to dream. Make time to dream, then figure out the path you need to create to make those dreams a reality. You can do this.
