Endings

It's graduation season--a season of endings and beginnings. To end a course of study or any other endeavor typically is a mix of clear and lingering events. As we end any endeavor, our schedules quickly change, but there's lingering thougths, memories, and actions. What's important when it comes to endings?

Celebrate the experience

As you end, it's important to celebrate the experience in a meaningful way. There will be a range of celebrations, but what's important is that you celebrate the ending in some way.

Summarize and reflect on the experience

Think about what that experience meant to you. What did you gain? What did you learn? What were the high points? What were the low points/ What will you bring forward from that experience?

How will you embrace your new chapter in life?

While it's important to acknowledge your past experiences, it's more important to embrace the new chapter in life with good energy and an open mind. Bring forward the lessons you've learned from the past, but be ready to live anew too.

Endings will affect us in all kinds of ways. Give those endings the attention they deserve, then move on. Onward.
