Family vacation hits and misses

We planned a family vacation in a family favorite destination. Our family includes many young adults. The vacation plans included many hits and a few misses.

Hits

  • a scenic hike with both easy and difficult trails
  • biking countless carriage trails with ebike and usual bikes
  • a sunset nature cruise
  • comfortable cottage with great walkability to restaurants, shops, beaches, and the national park
  • great weather - that's lucky!
  • good retaurants
  • Happy Hours at the cottage with drinks, cheese and crackers, other appetizers
  • Bananagrams
  • chance to watch a basketball tournament game together
  • bringing lots of breakfast, lunch, snack foods and drinks
  • choosing a time of year where the location was not too crowded
Misses
  • The cottage was great, but a little more space would have been nice including more bathrooms
  • Renting a cottage with a waterfront view and access would have been great
  • More healthy foods for appetizers
  • A bit more attention to packing outdoor adventure gear and supplies
In general having a loose-tight schedule of planned events that everyone could take part in set the stage for a fun vacation. Hopefully we'll do it again in the not-too-distant future. Onward.
