At times, your lifestyle and life choices will be be challenged, and those challenges may lead you back to the question, What is good living? That happened to me recently as I saw a situation much differently than most in my midst. Why the different purview?
Clearly those that saw the situation differently than me are coming from different arenas of life, and we know our experiences and surroundings affect who we are and how we perceive our environment and events. I'm curious about what they see and why they see it that way, but it's a tender subject so I'm not sure if I'll have the chance to hear those explanations.
When people see things differently than you, it brings pause and reflection about your own perception and analysis. Why do I see things the way I do? What life experiences have led me to those perceptions? In considering this, I found myself rethinkng about one of my favorite life questions which is What is Good Living?
I want everyone to have their best possible life--I want to work for good living in all aspects of my world, yet I'm not the all-knowing when it comes to the definition of good living. Although at this moment, I'd say good living includes the following elements:
- a warm, safe, positive place to live
- a healthy, happy schedule
- positive challenges that help you to grow
- rich, loving relationships
- access to basic needs included needed food, clothing, health care, recreation, and education
- being who you are in ways that bring you happiness and ways that do not harm or hurt others
