There are signs everywhere in my life and the world around me that demonstrate it's time for a culture shift. I thought about what it means to shift culture this morning, and I realized I have some homework to do in this regard.
As I initially think about culture shift, these are some of the categories I want to explore.
World changes
The world in many ways is clearly different than the world of my childhood. I want to think specifically about the changes that dramatically impact life today and how to respond to those changes.
Language
In this age of exponential share, I want to think more about the language I use and how I use that language.
Betterment
What actions truly result in betterment in terms of quality, rich, happy, good living?
What constitutes a good life?
What routines, places, people, activities constitute a good life?
What old ways no longer work, and what old ways are still valuable?
What will I retire and what will I embrace?
Healthy me; Healthy you
Many of the old ways are not as healthy as new ways. It's time to think about lifeways that are healthy for everyone involved. For example in the old days, the mom was doing most of the work--that didn't always give mom's time to be as healthy as they could be, yet there are some good aspects to doing the good work that mom's so often did. In shifting culture, I'll be thinking about the just right balance in this regard.
I love a new topic to explore so I'll explore the topic of culture shift. I welcome your thoughts.
